Hakim Ziyech’s agent is hoping that a club like Arsenal or Liverpool move for his player while also slamming any talk of him moving to Everton as ‘crazy’.

The Moroccan attacking midfielder, who currently plays for Ajax, has been linked with a move away from the club after Everton were reportedly interested during the summer. With five goals and six assists in 15 appearances this season, the 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Roma.

“I hope that there will be a better club than Roma, an Arsenal or Liverpool”, Rene van der Gijp said on Friday evening.

He was then asked about Everton’s apparent interest. “That would be crazy for that boy, he should not go to Everton, what are you doing there?”

Arsenal, as we know, are looking for an Aaron Ramsey replacement and it’s hard to know who they will turn to to fill that opening gap. Given the signings we’ve made since Sven and co. arrived, it seems almost impossible to rule anyone in or out the way we could have done previously with ease under Arsene Wenger, so familiar were we with the way the club operated in the transfer market under him.

Now, it’s anyone’s guess and it’s a little exciting!

Ziyech is under contract until 2021 and is currently valued at around £27m.

He is a left-footed attacking midfielder who can also play as a central midfielder or on the right wing.

Ziyech signed for Ajax from FC Twente in the summer of 2016. He cost them £9.9m and has 24 goals and 43 assists in 96 games for the Amsterdam side, working out at a goal or assist every 124 minutes.
