Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette both got on the scoresheet again as Arsenal beat Everton on Sunday at the Emirates and when that pair starts, Arsenal usually win.

The deadly duo have started just six games together since Auba arrived from Borussia Dortmund at the end of January but Arsenal have won five of them, registering an 83.3% win rate.

Compare that to the games where the pair haven’t started together, a slightly larger sample of 13 games, with a poor return of 46.2% wins.

Of course, that is a very small sample and it is too early to say definitely if Arsenal are better playing them as a pair or one at a time, but the early results seem to back up what logic dictates – if you play two top strikers together, you will do well.

Hardly groundbreaking stuff, but it is remarkable the number of people who still bang on about the pair not being able to play together when they clearly can – and are enjoy doing so.
