Aaron Ramsey’s talks with Arsenal over a new contract with the club have been negatively affected by the media circus surrounding Ivan Gazidis, according to reports.

The S*n report that Arsenal were closing in on a new £250,000-a-week deal for the Welshman last week, finally getting him tied down after many months of negotiations. However, uncertainty around chief executive Gazidis’ future is reportedly ‘undermining the whole process’.

Gazidis has been just as unwilling to commit to Arsenal as Ramsey in recent weeks, dodging questions around a possible move to AC Milan. Reports this morning suggest he’s now planning to accept the Italian club’s offer to join them in the next few days, although nothing is official just yet.

Given Gazidis’ reported heavy involvement in negotiations with Ramsey’s agent, this is all an unwelcome distraction. Nonetheless, The S*n suggest the player still favours staying with the Gunners, for now.

Hopefully soon we’ll get some updates from a more reliable source. Either way, it would certainly be nice if Gazidis could either put the Milan speculation to bed or leave so the club can replace him. To an extent, the same goes for Ramsey.
