Aaron Ramsey has managed to say more about his new Arsenal deal without actually talking about it at all.

The midfielder sat down with Sky Sports to give an interview that will be shown ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Cardiff today [Sunday]. Although Sky Sports have only released part of the interview at this point, it does not contain any questions about the Welshman’s future at Arsenal, a standard question these days given the expiring status of his contract.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t glean some information from what Ramsey did say, however. Like his forward-looking excitement…

“I am very excited and optimistic,” he said.

“We will get better with every game. Any time there is a change it takes a period of time to adapt and we are in that situation. We are all very positive and optimistic and we are all on board with it.”

All aboard the Unai train…

“It’s just a case of us sticking to it, becoming more comfortable, doing the things the manager wants us to do, and I am sure we will get stronger and stronger as the season goes on.”

Ramsey also spoke about the differences between Emery and Arsene Wenger, a comparison that is impossible not to make after so long with the Frenchman.

“He’s a lot more detailed on the opposition and we are playing different styles and trying to press a lot higher up the pitch and trying to hold a higher line to win the ball back in more dangerous areas,” Ramsey replied.

We won’t know for sure what way Ramsey is going to go until he either renews or leaves the club, but all the signs seem to point to him staying.

The club are keen to keep him and there seems no reason why they won’t be able to find an agreement, even though he has reportedly already turned own one offer.

Meanwhile, Ramsey and his wife Colleen are expecting twins. She made the announcement at the start of August.

This makes me think he’s unlikely to want to disrupt his family for the sake of a move.

I have no inside information on this at all, just a gut feeling from a body part that has a bad track record on this front.

Still, even a stopped clock is right twice a day…
