Sam Greenwood is making a quick start to life in the Arsenal academy, immediately adding his name to the list of top attacking talents at the club.

Facing Norwich City on Saturday, Greenwood gave the Arsenal u18s the lead twice in their eventual 5-1 win. Those two goals meant he’s scored three times in his first two starts since signing for the academy in the summer.

Before he even got those starts, Greenwood was already contributing to the goals, providing an assist after coming off the bench against Chelsea. Arsenal fans certainly seem impressed with the 16-year-old:

It’s no surprise either. Greenwood scored 21 goals in 26 games for Sunderland’s u16 and u18 teams last season, and gets regular call ups for the England youth teams. Arsenal knew what they were getting, it’s just good to see the young forward delivering so quickly.

In the remainder of the Norwich game, Harry Clarke scored early in the second half, before Trae Coyle and Folarin Balogun added two more goals to make it five.

Arsenal haven’t uploaded the highlights from that match at the time of writing, but we’ll leave you with Greenwood’s goal against Southampton:
