The table looks really healthy

It is important to note that all the potential competitors for a Champions League place have already dropped points. Manchester City have dropped two points, as have Reading and West Ham, while Chelsea have dropped four.

Birmingham City are certainly a dark horse as they are capable of beating any team in the League. The only question mark is can sustain a top two challenge the whole season?

At the bottom of the table, the battle for relegation is quite open.

There are four teams with zero points; Yeovil, Liverpool, Everton, and Brighton. Those four teams will try to win their first points on Sunday and at least one of them will manage it.

In the top half of the table, Arsenal v West Ham and Reading v Birmingham will see some of the Champions League candidates take on each other. Two teams with four points will play each other as well in Manchester City and Bristol, while Chelsea will be away to Everton.

Therefore, the Gunners need to take the three points against West Ham on Sunday in order to prevent the chasing pack from closing the gap.

It is also important also because Arsenal will be away to Chelsea in three weeks’ time for an early but decisive game in the Champions League race.
