Arsenal and Besiktas have reached an agreement over the loan of David Ospina for the 2018/19 season, but still need to finalise his buyout clause option.

Turkish outlet Fanatik claim the two clubs are at least on the same page when it comes to loaning the goalkeeper, but are still a distance apart on the option-to-buy fee. Arsenal want £7.1m, whilst Besiktas are only willing to pay £5.1m. They’re both hopeful to find an agreement before the end of the window though.

According to Turkish-Football, that buyout option wouldn’t be an obligation, so Besiktas could still pull out at the end of the season. However, right now they have no intentions of doing so, as they want the Colombian goalkeeper to play for them full time.

The news comes further to reports earlier in the week that Besiktas had found an agreement with David Ospina over personal terms. Besiktas president Fikret Orman and other club officials travelled to London to try and finalise his transfer, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to have worked, and the saga continues to drag on.

Arsenal previously rejected a loan bid from Napoli for the goalkeeper, so it’s a bit strange they’ve now accepted Besiktas’. Perhaps Napoli weren’t interested in an option-to-buy though. We’ll see what the two clubs finally decide to do.
