Birmingham City are reportedly lining up a move for Arsenal academy product Josh Dasilva, but it’s still not clear what the midfielder’s contract situation is at present.

BirminghamLive report that the Championship club are eyeing up yet another loan move for an Arsenal player, after taking Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall from the Gunners for the 2017/18 season. They’ve also taken Seb Larsson, Fabrice Muamba, Johan Djourou and Nicklas Bendtner on a temporary basis over the years.

There’s still no clarity on Dasilva’s current situation with Arsenal though. The club didn’t include him on either their June list of released players, nor their list of players signing new deals, despite his current contract expiring this summer.

After that, Arsenal posted a picture of the entire academy, without Dasilva in the picture. Not long afterwards, however, the midfielder posted a picture of himself in training with the club.

Since then, he hasn’t featured in matches for the first-team, and didn’t make the squad for the u23s’ match against Hornchurch on Tuesday. This could be because he’s sealing a loan move to Birmingham, but without any announcement on a new contract with Arsenal, it’s hard to say that for sure.

Hopefully Arsenal will clear this up for us in the coming days.
