Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is able to see the funny side of his goalless run of form, joking that the club have now made him a goalkeeper after three matches without hitting the back of the net.

While three games without a goal is nothing in terms of Arsenal strikers failing to score, for the Gabonese striker it’s something he’s not used to happening that often. It’s not that he’s not getting chances – some of the efforts he’s been presented with seemed unmissable – it’s just he’s been a little wonky with his finishes.

Auba has 10 goals and four assists in 17 games since he signed for Arsenal so I doubt anyone besides idiots in a few papers will be concerned that he is yet to score this season after only three games.

Taking to goal in training this week, Aubameyang certainly didn’t seem out of his comfort zone in the new position, nor was he phased by the alien pod pitch invasion…

The main question that remains unanswered is, however, can he play out from the back?
