Peyraud-Magnin’s deal to join Arsenal is apparently all but completed and the announcement was expected over the last few days.

That clearly hasn’t happened, but while waiting for the deal to be made official, many speculated that the 26-year-old would take over from Moorhouse as the number two but no one was expecting her to join West Ham before her Peyraud-Magnin was announced.

Speaking about the move, Moorhouse told the official West Ham site, “It’s a club that has got a lot of plans, a lot of ambition and I like that. They’ve got the infrastructure in place and it’s a good time to be at the club.

“It’s a fresh start for everyone. Matt (Beard) has come in and said everyone is on a level field, everyone can play, and everyone’s got a chance. It’s just something that appealed to me straight off.”

Moorhouse made 12 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions during her 15 months with the club and we’d like to wish her all the best on her new adventure.

The 5ft8 keeper began her senior career with Lyon before spells with FF Issy, Saint Etienne and Marseille before returning to Lyon at the start of last season.

She has represented her country at u17, 19, 20 and B level.

This signing is expected after a number of cryptic tweets on Twitter and ‘sources’ telling us it’s done.

Among the six people who liked the above tweet was a partner at the AV Sports agency, who recently signed a Peyraud-Magnin as a client:

They also tweeted that the player was going to leave the D1 Feminine to play abroad:

Olympique Lyonnais, the current Women Champions League holders, confirmed Peyraud-Magnin left the club after one season as Sarah Bouhaddi’s back up before Arsenal made this announcement.

She did all her youth training at Lyon, staying there for nine years between the ages of 13 and 22.  Peyraud-Magnin then moved on in search of first-team football as Sarah Bouhaddi was, and still is, the undisputed number one there.

Peyraud-Magnin played one season at Issy Les Moulineaux before moving to St Etienne and moved on again, to Marseille, a year later where she was superb in their initial season in the D1 Feminine.

That prompted a call from Lyon for her to come back as Bouhaddi’s understudy.
