Arsenal’s latest signing, Tabea Kemme, says she had no doubts about joining Arsenal once she got her first taste of the training ground.

Arsenal made the announcement on Wednesday that they had signed Kemme, following on from the signing of Lia Walti who played alongside her for five years in Germany.

Back in May, when Arsenal announced the signing of Viktoria Schnaderbeck, we reported that Arsenal were expected to sign at least another two players from Germany with deals for Kemme and Walti already agreed.

Kemme told her club in January that she was leaving, admitting, “It was a purely personal decision, [one] in which I just put the priority on my feelings. You have a gut feeling and I followed that. “

Kemme arrives after 12 years with Turbine Potsdam where she made 140 appearances, winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Frauen-Bundesliga four times in a row between 2009 and 2012.

“I’m totally satisfied,” she told Sportbuzzer. “It was not really the question of whether I do it, but it was immediately clear when I visited Arsenal.

“I’ve longed for that wish, that I would like to use the opportunity to live abroad through football.”

Kemme is currently injured, sidelined with a knee cartilage problem that required surgery.

“On the pitch, she’s a beast,” Walti told Arsenal Player about Kemme. “That’s the word. Physically she’s really, really good and nobody likes to play against her.

“In a one against one, she has the ball or she has the other player with a foul, she’s a really physical player who’s always fighting until the end. She never gives up and that’s what her strength is.”

Kemme also revealed that when she was being shown around the Arsenal training ground for the first time, she got to meet Jens Lehmann.

“On my first tour of the training grounds, the team manager asked me if I would like to speak with Jens Lehmann. As soon as I had answered, we were already in his office. That was super nice, you can tell that everyone is pulling together.”
