Onuachu plays for FC Midtjylland after signing for the Danish side in 2012. You might remember him from their Europa League game against Manchester United in February 2016 when the Danes won 2-1 and Onuachu got on the scoresheet from outside the box.

There is no indication whatsoever that Arsenal have any interest in Onuachu however, the player is being linked with a move after his club signed another attacked in Mayron George, also 24 but from Costa Rica.

Onuachu has been linked with a move to Genk in Belgium, however that does not seem to appeal to him. When asked what club he would like to play for, his answer was clear.

“Arsenal. The way they play is just the kind of football I like to see – and so I would like to play for Arsenal at one point,” he told Politiken.

“When I was on a weekend trip to London some years ago with the FCM squad, we were out to see Arsenal. It was an experience. The Premier League is great and Arsenal is a giant club with a nice history.”

Onuachu is realistic about his chances. “Arsenal hardly comes after me now,” he added with a smile.

“But I’m only 24 years old, and maybe I go to another club before the dream might come true. I think I will be able to commit myself to most leagues in Europe, and I feel in good shape and 100 percent ready.

“I’ve been involved a lot, but now I have been here for six years and will soon try something new. I think there have been European clubs that have previously been interested in me. But nothing has come to fruition. It’s not to know if there will be the right offer for me and for the club in this summer’s transfer window.”

Onuachu has made 145 appearances for FC Midtjylland scoring 52 goals and creating 17 assists. He has two years left on his current contract.
