Hugo Keto has signed for Brighton on a two-year deal after the 20-year-old keeper was released by Arsenal.

Keto was one of a number of young keepers released by Arsenal after the departure of Gerry Peyton and Arsene Wenger this summer.

“We are delighted to welcome Hugo to the club,” Brighton u23 coach, Simon Rusk, told their official site.

“He comes here with a good grounding after his time at Arsenal and will add some good competition for places in the goalkeeping positions.

“I look forward to working with him closely during pre-season, and to see how he develops during his time at the club.”

Arsenal signed Keto from Finnish side, HJK Helsinki in 2014. His standout highlight from his time at Arsenal came in a penalty shootout in the FA Youth Cup quarter-final in 2015/16 when he made three fine saves to deny Coventry City.

Keto made 32 appearances for Arsenal across the u18, u19 and u23 teams. He kept nine cleansheets during those games and conceded 42 goals.
