Arsenal have a fresh start, leaving behind the  legacy of over 20 years of Arsene Wenger.

Not only have they addressed change in the form of a new manager, but they have also reshuffled their backroom bringing in the likes of Raul Sanllehi and Sven Mislintat from Barcelona and Dortmund respectively.

Arsenal finished sixth in the EPL table last season, ended trophyless and saw their longest serving manager Arsene Wenger step down. The squad required a lot of work to bring it back to its position as one of England’s elite clubs or even Europe for that sake.

Arsenal have already made a number of big signings, addressing a lot of issues and it is most likely that they won’t be making another big transfer before the summer transfer window shuts.

According to the Arsenal transfer news, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Lichtsteiner indeed brings Arsenal on par with their rivals for a Premier League challenge. However, a few issues still remain and we take a look at the players that Arsenal could sign to move up the EPL and consolidate their position.

5Cristian Pavon

Pavon rose to spotlight after featuring for Argentina in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where Argentina had more negative issues coming to the fore rather than positives to pick from. Cristian Pavon was one of the few positives.

The pacy winger is more of an inside forward than a provider and loves to take defenders one-on-one. He constantly makes clever runs to beat the final defensive line but is also capable of scoring from outside the box. He is already being linked to Arsenal along with FC Barcelona, but his club Boca Juniors have hiked his price to £37.5 million.

4Ante Rebic

A World Cup finalist, we already have had a glimpse of what Ante Rebic is capable of. Bringing him to Arsenal would send the Gooners all over the world into a frenzy. A powerful and quick forward who is capable of playing both as a winger or a striker, he would allow Ozil to play on his favoured position of central attacking midfield and complement Mkhitaryan so he could express his technical side more.

He is valued at £44 million by Eintracht Frankfurt, and is also being targeted by Manchester United.

3Max Meyer

Max Meyer could come in as one of the best options as a replacement for Jack Wilshere. Currently, there is no realistic better replacement for Wilshere than Meyer. Many would even consider it as an upgrade over Wilshere. The pick of the deal is that he comes free, having been released by Schalke after his contract ran out. He experienced something of a renaissance last season, where he revelled in the Bundesliga playing in his new position of deep-lying playmaker.

However, he is demanding huge wages and a pay-off for his agent.

2Aleksandr Golovin

Golovin

In the recent weeks, Chelsea have been linked more often to Golovin rather than Arsenal. But Arsenal had been scouting the Russian star since well before the World Cup, even before Arsenal played CSKA Moscow in the Europa League (in which he scored an absolute peach of a freekick).

This would be another great signing of Arsenal as they don’t really have any backup for Mesut Ozil at the central attacking midfield position.

1Benjamin Pavard

Pavard lit up the 2018 World Cup with his goal against Argentina. With crucial defenders Koscielny and Sokratis approaching their twilight years, he would be an excellent prospect who could potentially develop into a world class defender. Although playing at right back for France, he is a natural ball playing centre-back.

However, praising him away from Stuttgart will be immensely difficult in light of his recent exploits at the World Cup.
