West Ham United are targeting a move for departing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, but they’re far from the only club interested in the 26-year-old.

Sky Sports report that West Ham are interested in signing the England international when his contract with Arsenal expires on July 1st. They also link Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves, Juventus, AC Milan and Sampdoria with a possible move for the midfielder.

On Tuesday, Wilshere revealed on Instagram that he would be leaving Arsenal at the end of his deal. He insisted that his plan was always to stay with the club, and even to take a reduction in wages to do so. However, eventually the midfielder decided it against it, after Unai Emery made it clear the England international wasn’t key to his plans.

A move to West Ham makes some sense, as there are rumours that Wilshere was a fan of the club as a child. He posted a picture of himself as a child in a Hammers top a few years ago, but add that he had a Marc Overmars shirt as well.

One ‘hint’ you shouldn’t read anything into though, is Wilshere’s Instagram activity. Publications like HITC have written articles about how the player has “recently” deleted Arsenal from his bio, and followed West Ham and Mark Noble on the account. All that happened years ago though, so it doesn’t really mean anything at all.
