Mexican club Tigres want to sign David Ospina, as their current first-choice goalkeeper edges closer to an exit, according to reports in Argentina.

Argentinian side Boca Juniors are trying to sign Nahuel Guzman from Tigres, according to local outlet Closs Continental. As a result, the Liga MX side are searching for a new goalkeeper of their own, and have shown an interest in signing Ospina.

As most Arsenal fans will know by now, Ospina only has a contract with the club until 2019. If the Gunners’ hierarchy want to cash in, they’re running out of chances to do so.

It doesn’t really seem at all likely the goalkeeper will extend his deal in North London. He made 21 appearances last season, which isn’t bad by any means. Still, if he can’t even get in the first team ahead of a 36-year-old, he’s probably better off moving elsewhere.

There probably isn’t enough time to get a deal wrapped up before the World Cup at this stage. The tournament starts on Friday and Ospina will travel to Russia with Colombia. However, when he returns, his future will hopefully be wrapped up pretty quickly. With any luck, he’ll have increased his transfer value with some impressive performances.

In the meantime, Arsenal need to start really looking for goalkeepers, because so far they’re seemingly nowhere near signing one.
