Seven Mislintat has reportedly met with Barcelona to discuss a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s best mate, Ousmane Dembele.

According to Sport in Spain, Mislintat has maintained ‘continuous contact’ with the former Borussia Dortmund player who only moved to the Nou Camp last summer for a whopping £103.5m.

Signing a deal until 2022, there seems no way that Arsenal can afford Dembele on a permanent deal and it seems highly unlikely that the Spaniards would be willing to let him go.

That being said, the rumours surrounding the player have been so constant for so long now that it seems there must be some level of truth to the story.

Sport’s report seems to be a mish-mash of articles from L’Equipe and the British press with little additional or new information.

Dembele played just 930 minutes for Barcelona in La Liga last season, scoring three and assisting seven despite only averaging around 54 minutes per game.

There have been rumours that Arsenal would take Dembele on loan for the season.

Back in April, Dembele said that he expected to be at Barcelona ‘for a long time’.

“Will I leave this summer? No, not at all.” he said. “I signed a five-year contract with Barcelona and I’m going to be in Barcelona for a long time, don’t worry. I will not leave from here after the season ends.”
