Jack Wilshere is closing in on a move to Crystal Palace, reuniting with former England manager Roy Hodgson, according to a report from Poland.

CPFC Polska report that Wilshere will join Crystal Palace for their pre-season training camp in Sweden on July 1st. However, their information is far from first-hand.

Mateusz Zgorzyk, well known in Poland for his passion for meeting and taking pictures with footballers, learned of the update during a conversation about the organisation of the camp. CPFC Polska think Zgorzyk’s information is reliable, but personally I’d want something more substantial than that.

It’s not entirely impossible that Wilshere does end up moving to a club like Palace though. He’s already shown he’s willing to drop down to one of the ‘smaller’ Premier League sides, with his loan move to Bournemouth.

Plus, joining the Eagles would allow him to stay in London, which might be important to him. His wife recently gave birth to a baby girl after all.

Roy Hodgson always had a lot of faith in the midfielder when they worked together with England, and apparently tried to sign him in January. Wilshere’s contract comes to an end this summer, so he’s free to join whichever club will have him after that.

We’ll find out the identity of that club before long.
