Juventus are trying to complete a deal for CSKA Moscow’s Aleksandr Golovin, and aren’t currently interested in Jack Wilshere, according to reports.

Goal report that the departing Arsenal midfielder ‘is not currently on the Serie A club’s radar’, despite rumours to the contrary. They’ve already made a summer signing in the centre, with Emre Can joining from Liverpool, and have a number of midfielders in the squad already.

Instead, the Italian champions will move for Golovin, one of the stars of the 2018 World Cup so far.

Juventus have made the Russian their number one summer target, and bid €20m for his signature. This is slightly higher than the €17m figure Di Marzio were reporting last week, but similar enough to assume the offer is at least roughly in that region. Both sources are in agreement that CSKA want something more like €25m.

Goal don’t rule Arsenal out of the running for Golovin completely, particularly with the player’s father recently admitting his son is learning English. However, it looks like Juventus are leading the race at this stage.

Golovin scored seven goals and assisted six more for CSKA last season. That included an impressive free-kick against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, and an assist in the return leg.

If Arsene Wenger were still in charge of the club, he’d probably be making a move for the player, based on recent quotes from Russian agent Sandor Varga. As it stands, we’ll have to wait and see whether Unai Emery is as keen to bring the player to North London.
