Yacine Adli will sign a new three-year at PSG despite reportedly agreeing to join Arsenal on a free transfer this summer.

Paris United, the same site that broke the news of Arsenal agreeing to sign Adli, claim that the player was in London on Sunday to visit his agent, not Arsenal, before he returned to Paris.

They claim that PSG’s Sporting Director, Antero Henrique, has convinced the 17-year-old to remain at the club by offering him more guarantees over playing time, something that was supposed to have swayed his decision to join Arsenal.

Adli took to social media recently to post a cryptic message that now seems a little clearer. When reports were circulating that he was in London to sign with Arsenal, Adli posted on Instagram to say ‘you have no idea what you’re on about’ with this location tag showing he was in Paris.

RMC also reported recently that there had been a ‘new twist’ in the saga with their journalist, Loic Tanzi, claiming Adli could be about to go back on his decision to sign for Arsenal.

While we are all used to stories ebbing and flowing over the summer, this one certainly seemed to have a lot of legs to it. It does indeed look like Arsenal were very close to landing Adli by promising the teenager game time with the first team.

Such is his talent, however, PSG were not prepared to lose him without a fight and Arsenal now look set to miss out which is disappointing, if not understandable given the player’s age and loyalties.
