Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli are all interested in 23-year-old defensive midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports in Italy.

Correire dello Sport write that Celta Vigo are preparing to auction the player off between the three clubs.

Celta know the Slovakian midfielder has a €50m release clause and a contract until 2023, and they can therefore take a hard line on the issue. If they want to, the club can insist someone pays the full amount, giving them a very strong negotiating position.

Napoli reportedly aren’t worried about the competition. They seemingly know that Lobotka rates them highly, so they can relax and stay quiet.

You’d think Napoli would be a bit more concerned about interest from Arsenal, given the way the window is going at the moment. First they showed an interest in Bernd Leno, only for the Gunners to sign him. Then they shifted focus to Lucas Torreira, and that deal is now almost over the line for Unai Emery as well.

However, perhaps they can feel a bit more confident about Lobotka, because Arsenal shouldn’t be as desperate for him. If Lucas Torreira joins, and Ever Banega follows him, which seems very possible, I can’t see the club spending a large part of €50m on yet another midfielder. There are other areas of the pitch to look at.
