Arsenal have a new official music streaming partner in TIDAL, according to an announcement on Monday.

TIDAL revealed the news on their website and Twitter account on Monday. They wrote that their new partnership will celebrate “the organizations’ shared commitment to developing new talent”, and that Arsenal members for 2018/19 will receive free six-month subscriptions to their service.

It’s the second commercial deal of the last few weeks, with the ‘Visit Rwanda’ sleeve sponsorship deal announced by the club in late May.

There’s no word on how much Arsenal will make from this latest partnership, but Goal say they understand it’s around £1m-a-year. Not a major deal, but still some extra cash in the bank.

Either way it’s good to see them continuing to make positive steps commercially. There was a sense that the club were being left behind last season, as the rest of the big-five pushed on with big money deals.

This should be the advantage of the new club setup after all. The additional division of labour should give the likes of Ivan Gazidis more time to focus on the commercial side and bringing money in, whilst Raul Sanllehi and Sven Mislintat work out how to spend it. Then Unai Emery just needs to focus on the team on the pitch.

Hopefully this new partnership should give the club an extra financial boost.
