Former Juventus player Alessandro Orlando says the current boss of the Serie A champions would gladly leave to join Arsenal, if he gets the opportunity.

Allegri has become the clear favourite to take over from Arsene Wenger in recent weeks. In fact, some bookmakers have made him odds-on to take the job at this point, whilst the respective second favourites trail way behind.

Orlando thinks that’s not without good reason. He claims the North London club wouldn’t have any trouble attracting the Italian.

“The only important free bench is that of Arsenal and if they want him they will not struggle to take him to London,” Orlando told RMC Sport. “And Allegri would not miss such an opportunity.”

Juventus director Beppe Marotta recently admitted the club have planned talks with the manager at the end of the season.

Allegri looks to be heading for yet another successful campaign with the Italian side. They’re close to winning their fourth consecutive Serie A title in a row under him, and on Wednesday night they play in the final of the Coppa Italia. A win in midweek would be his fourth consecutive cup trophy as well.

Although he never managed to pick up the Champions League trophy, he did make the final twice.

It seems like he’s achieved pretty much everything he can with the club, so perhaps he’d welcome a new challenge. We’ll have to wait and see.
