The Daily Mail report that Fonseca is the favourite to take over from David Moyes who is unlikely to have his contract renewed.

Fonseca has also spoken with the hierarchy at Napoli as they look to replace Maurizio Sarri who could be on his way to Chelsea.

Antonio Conte has been rumoured to be going the other way in what is set to be an incredibly busy summer for manager movement.

Everton were also interested in Fonseca but are believed to be going for Marco Silva instead.

Fonseca was appointed manager of the Ukrainian side two years ago and since then has averaged 2.42 points per game.

He won the league and cup double in 2016/17, his first season with the club.

Perhaps, even more impressively, his side are making great strides in Europe.

They finished runners-up to Manchester City in the Champions League group stages, beating Guardiola’s side, 2-1 at home.

Then they won against AS Roma in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie, but ended up going out.

Fonseca also spent a year managing Braga and FC Porto earlier in his career, winning the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup with those two teams respectively.
