Liverpool have been sending scouts to watch Bordeaux forward Malcom in recent weeks, as Jurgen Klopp looks to add to his attacking options.

Malcom, who seemingly came close to a move to Arsenal in January, ended up sticking with his current club, at least until the end of the season. Liverpool look to be taking advantage of the Gunners’ hesitance, with the Daily Mail reporting that they’re following the player and planning a summer move.

For the second season in a row, Malcom put together a decent tally for goals and assists this campaign. He managed 10 goals and seven assists, one more than the nine goals and seven assists he got in 2016/17. That achievement is all the more impressive given the context that he’s just 21 years old, playing out wide for a mid-table side.

The player has a lot to his game, with WhoScored listing long shots, set-pieces, crossing, holding onto the ball, passing, dribbling and key passes as his strengths.

Arsenal still need to add something in the wide areas, as there aren’t many players at the club with the ability to take opponents on and get crosses in effectively. That’s why Mesut Özil ends up doing the job so often. Buying a proper winger would allow the German to stay more central and dictate the play more.

The club better move fast though, or more of their targets will end up at rivals clubs before long.
