Arsenal have reportedly had a £26m bid turned down for Roma ‘wonderkid’, Cengiz Under with the Italians apparently wanting closer to £44m.

The 20-year-old, who turns 21 in July, has caught the attentions of clubs across Europe after a season that saw him score eight and grab two assists in 32 competitive matches.

Seven of his goals came in his last 12 appearances.

This also seems like this could be the second approach from Arsenal.

Back in March it was reported that Arsenal had been rebuffed in their enquiries for the forward. At that time, reports claimed that Roma had no intention of selling but it seems as if they have changed their stance on that.

Now, Tuttomercato claim Arsenal have had a substantial offer turned down for the Turkish youngster who comes with a great crossing range and ability to strike from range.

With claims that Arsenal have agreed a £17.5m deal for Sokratis, that would mean Arsenal have allocated most of their summer transfer kitty and they haven’t even announced their new manager yet.

Seems likely, eh?
