Despite being heavily linked with the managerial job at Chelsea, Luis Enrique has not yet been tempted by any offers that have come his way.

The former Barcelona manager was named as the favourite to take over from Antonio Conte when he is eventually sacked in the summer.

He was also linked with Arsenal, one of many managers the Gunners have reportedly considered even though Arsene Wenger will most likely see out the remaining year of his contract.

Speaking to Ibon Zugasti, the former Spanish cyclist, Enrique said he has not yet been tempted by a new job. “It will depend on someone loving me, but it has to be something that really excites me,” he added.

Back in March it was reported that Enrique was stalling on agreeing a deal with Chelsea as he waited for the Arsenal job

ASSESSED: 7 managers on Arsenal’s shortlist

Enrique was said to favour Arsenal over Chelsea due to the fact that the latter sack managers too often – an accusation that could never be levelled at Arsenal.

Arsenal also reportedly want Joachm Low, Julian Nagelsmann, Max Allegri and Antonio Conte. All of those managers have been described as Arsenal’s favourite for the job by various news outlets, along with a few others.

Arsenal, however, are unlikely to appoint a new manager this summer.

Reports, as they stand at present, claim that the club and manager will sit down at the end of the season to discuss what happens in the next 12 months.

Out of respect for what he has done for the club, the Arsenal hierarchy are said to be happy enough to let Wenger see out his final year and will let him make the decision over whether he wants to stay or go.

That, of course, makes planning for life after Wenger a little trickier.
