If you thought that Jack Wilshere had a poor game against CSKA Moscow while Aaron Ramsey blew them away then you are clearly not a reporter for the Mirror because they think the two players were on the same level on Thursday night.

While Aaron Ramsey scored two goals – including one of the best seen for years at any football ground – hit the bar and generally tore CSKA apart, Wilshere struggled in the middle of the pitch.

But if you just read the Mirror’s player ratings, you’d think they both had a similar outing:

Jack completed only 73.3% of his passes – the worst of any outfield Arsenal starter by a distance – had zero shots, zero key passes and just 36 touches. One dribble, zero tackles, zero interceptions, zero clearances, zero blocked shots, zero crosses, and zero through balls make up his stat set for the evening.

Ramsey, however, scored two, hit the bar, completed 85.2% of his passes, had seven shots, 76 touches, played one key pass, made one tackle, three interceptions, and put in two crosses.

Even if you only based your opinion of their performances on stats, you can be in no doubt who had the better game.

If you have eyes that you used to actually watch the game, you need to be a complete idiot to think that the two players had similar games.

Yet, here we are…
