Borussia Dortmund are hoping to bring Sven Mislintata back to Germany when his contract expires with Arsenal in 2020 but the club’s new head of scouting sees himself staying at Arsenal for at least 10 years.

In an article on Spox.com, they discuss BvB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke’s plans for the future of the club and it seems as if getting Mislintat back is top of his wishlist.

Speaking in November, Watzke said he was to blame for Mislintat’s departure after he was treated poorly by Thomas Tuchel.

“It personally hurt seeing this,” said Watzke. “Mislintat was treated like that [by Tuchel] for a year and a half.

“It was my personal mistake.”

Now, he wants to rectify that mistake by bringing Mislintat back to Dortmund.

But before you get too worried, Mislintat doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to return.

Speaking in December, Mislintat said, “I was born in Dortmund, I’m a Dortmund kid, I studied here.

“Of course I won’t rule it out but I’m not leaving [Dortmund for Arsenal] with the intention to return. I’m following my path to develop further and I want to keep learning.

“At Arsenal I want to do the very best job I can do. I’m excited for the challenge and can easily imagine myself at Arsenal, in London, for 10, 12 years as long as my family and I feel at home there.”

Nicknamed ‘diamond eye’ for his ability to spot a player, Mislintat has already been involved in helping Arsenal sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
