Arsenal have reportedly identified Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey who could leave the club this summer.

Arsenal have finally opened negotiations with Ramsey over a new deal with his current one expiring next summer.

Rumours in the press claim that he wants a significant payrise before signing anything having seen how Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez were able to use their expiring contracts to get what they wanted.

Arsenal are preparing to sell him in the summer, say these same reports.

If they do, they will of course have to replace him and El Confidencial, via Fotbolltransfers, claims that they have found someone to do that at Real Madrid.

It didn’t take long on Google to turn up reports claiming that Ceballos has been told he can leave Real Madrid, although Liverpool are ‘on alert’ at this news coming from Mundo Deportivo and seem much more heavily linked than Arsenal.

Cabellos only signed for Real Madrid last summer, moving from Real Betis for £14.85m. But since his arrival he’s failed to make much of an impact, playing just 212 league minutes. The midfielder used those minutes well, scoring two.

A spattering of appearances in other competitions means he’s amassed 715 minutes of actual football since his move, so he is unlikely to be happy with the current situation either.

Under contract until 2023 Cabellos is also unlikely to be cheap.

The S*n reckon he will be at least £25m although how they calculate this figure is not clear.
