Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere will return to full training this week ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming games against West Ham and Atletico Madrid.

Both players missed the game at Newcastle on Sunday after picking up injuries against CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter final second leg. Ramsey received a large gash on his shin while Jack was out after a kick to his right ankle.

With one eye on the Europa League semi-final first leg next week, we could see both players on the bench against the Hammers who are still not guaranteed Premier League football next season. They are currently seven points above the relegation zone with five games remaining.

As the game is taking place at the Grove, Arsenal fans will be relatively confident they will pick up three points as they try to fend off Burnley. Sean Dyche’s men sit just two points behind Arsenal and a seventh-placed finish for the Gunners could see them have to qualify for the Europa League, their season starting while they are supposed to be in Singapore on their pre-season tour.

In other team news, Laurent Koscielny is a doubt for the game against West Ham as Arsenal continue to manage his ongoing Achilles problem.

David Ospina has recovered from his sprained ankle, however it is not yet clear which keeper Wenger will choose for the games against Atleti.

While neither keeper option at the club is ideal, most fans would prefer to see Petr Cech allowed to play in those games. The Czech stopper has also said he wants to play against Atletico Madrid.

Wenger, meanwhile, has not told either keeper they will start.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected back before the end of April.
