Carlo Ancelotti is apparently prioritising the chance to take over from Arsene Wenger this summer over rejoining Chelsea, according to reports.

Le Parisien claim that although plenty of clubs will be in for Ancelotti since his departure from Bayern Munich, the manager himself would prefer to join Arsenal. Chelsea reportedly tried to get him to replace Antonio Conte this summer, but the Italian has made his mind up on his ideal destination.

Of course, whether he actually does take over at Arsenal depends largely on whether the club want him to. So far there’s nothing to suggest they’ve made the 58-year-old an offer.

If they want someone with a lot of experience managing at the top level though, Ancelotti will be a prime candidate.

The former midfielder has taken charge of Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the past. What’s more, he won trophies with every single one of them.

Of course, Arsenal don’t dominate spending in their country like Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid did when he was in charge of each of them. It’s a very different job, and the board will have to establish whether Ancelotti is the right man for it. We’ll see what they decide.
