The agent of Cristiano Piccini has confirmed that both Arsenal and Juventus are interested in signing his client from Sporting CP this summer.
Speaking to Radio Renasenca, Dario Ristori confirmed the interest of Arsenal and added, “Piccini is not concerned with the market. We’ll talk with the Sporting at the end of the season.”
This fits with other reports we’ve covered in recent weeks.
Portuguese publications Record and O Jogo both reported Arsenal scouts have watched Sporting CP recently.
It’s perfectly possible they’ve been following the team over the course of the season to keep an eye on Piccini.
Meanwhile, earlier this week we heard from Jornal de Noticias that Arsenal were prepared to make a €20m (£17.5m) offer for the player.
This might be true but it also depends on the new manager and whether or not he wants to bring in this player.
Piccini only signed for Sporting last summer.
He moved from Real Betis for £2.58m, signing a contract until 2022.
Arsenal were first linked with a move for Piccini back in October.
