Kelechi Nwakali scored a stunning goal for loan side MVV Maastricht on Friday night.

Nwakali was involved in his loan side’s 3-1 victory over Jong FC Utrecht this week.

The 19-year-old, who’s at the Eerste Divisie side until the end of the season, picked up the ball near the half way line, dancing over opposition players’ legs. He then dribbled it expertly to the edge of the area and thumped it into the top corner of Jong FC Utrecht’s goal.

The goal put his side two ahead and not only shows fantastic technique and strength, but confidence as well.

Nwakali signed for Arsenal from Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria in 2016 and has since been out on loan three times. This is his second spell at Maastricht – during his first, he made 29 appearances.

MVV are 12th in the second tier of Dutch football so while they’re not getting promoted any time soon, they’re not in immediate danger of getting relegated either

Nwakali will be eager to build on this goal. At the age of 19, the midfielder probably has his eye on a place in Arsenal’s youth team.

He’ll also be keen to represent Nigeria at a senior level – just like Alex Iwobi. The teenager currently plays for their u20s.
