Arsenal are ready to sell Hector Bellerin to boost their funds this summer ahead of a squad rebuild according to a report in today’s Daily Mail.

The Spanish defender has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs since his emergence in the Arsenal first team.

Arsenal reportedly believe they can get around £50m for the 22-year-old who only signed a six-and-a-half-year-deal at the end of 2016.

Juventus are the frontrunners at present and have been consistently linked with a move for Bellerin. Barcelona are also interested and tried to sign Bellerin last summer.

Where previously Bellerin made all the right noises about staying at Arsenal, recent rumours suggest he is not happy at the cub and would move on in the summer if he’s allowed.

The Mail reports that Arsenal had been reluctant to sell Bellerin, but they have now come round to the idea as a way of increasing funds available this summer.

Bellerin’s development has stalled badly in recent seasons – a damming indictment of coaching at the club and he is another player who has world class potential that is likely going to be realised elsewhere. Perhaps in Italy. Alongside the world class goalkeeper we sold for peanuts because we couldn’t develop him, either.
