Raul Sanllehi is a ‘crucial’ cog in the Arsenal machine if they want to lure Luis Enrique to the club to replace Arsene Wenger this summer.

The former Barcelona manager is still on a sabbatical, enjoying cycling instead of football, but with a number of managerial positions expected to open up this summer it is believed that he will be back in the game sooner rather than later.

The PSG job is one big ticket that might make its way onto the market. Unai Emery’s position was never super stable and with their exit from the Champions League before even making the last 16, his time now seems to be up.

Many years ago PSG would have turned to Arsene Wenger but it seems that that ship has now sailed and Antonio Conte is believed to be top of their list.

That would then open up the Chelsea job for Enrique, who has been linked with Stamford Bridge far more consistently than he has with Arsenal.

Mundo Deportivo believe that Raul Sanllehi’s relationship with Enrique could play a crucial role in helping him decide where to go next. The pair worked together at Barcelona and this relationship is said to hand Arsenal a ‘distinct advantage’ over other clubs who are interested in signing him.

But all this depends on Arsene Wenger actually leaving in the summer and that is far from guaranteed.

The manager wants to stay to fulfil his contract and the club seem to afraid to terminate it early.

It’s not a stretch to say we could experience a summer that sees a number of top clubs change their manager once again while Arsenal carry on as they are.
