Petr Čech is the ninth best goalkeeper in the Premier League this season, according to the CIES Football Observatory’s analysis.

The Football Observatory rates players based on a number of statistics over the last six months.

For goalkeepers they look at goals conceded per match, saves per match, save percentage, passing stats and more. Then they use all that come up with a rating out of 100.

Here are the top 10 Premier League keepers according to them:

1. David De Gea

Manchester United – 89

2. Ederson

Manchester City – 86

3. Nick Pope

Burnley – 84

4. Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea – 82

5. Hugo Lloris

Spurs – 81

6. Loris Karius

Liverpool – 76

7. Adrian

West Ham United – 76

8. Kasper Schmeichel

Leicester City – 72

9. Petr Cech

Arsenal – 71

10. Simon Mignolet

Liverpool – 70

It’s good to see the Arsenal goalkeeper at least managed to edge out Mignolet. Although, that’s not much consolation when every big-six club has a goalkeeper in the top six except Wenger’s side.

Burnley’s Nick Pope takes Arsenal’s spot among the leaders, which is no surprise considering how strong his team are defensively.

Only Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have conceded fewer goals than Sean Dyche’s side.

Having a significantly lower score than Adrian is a bit more embarrassing, considering how poor West Ham have been.

Clearly Arsenal need to have another look at the goalkeeping position over the summer.
