Lucas Perez provided an assist but added another game to his goal drought, as seven Arsenal loanees featured over the weekend.

Perez helped Deportivo La Coruna avoid defeat to Las Palmas with an assist from a corner. The match ended 1-1, making it 14 matches since their last victory. It’s also four months since the Spaniard last scored, despite a long run of matches in the team.

Julio Pleguezuelo played 90 minutes as Gimnastic de Tarragona lost 2-0 to Cordoba, but he deserved more from the match, after a strong showing. The youngster won 10 out of his 12 duels, made five tackles and a three interceptions. He even created a chance at the other end, and had a couple of shots.

Ben Sheaf played the full match for Stevenage in their 2-2 draw against Port Vale. The notable thing about that performance was that he played in midfield, instead of in the back line. Sheaf recently spoke about using his loan to work on both his physical and technical attributes, so perhaps midfield is the best place to do both.

Kelechi Nwakali and Tafari Moore played 90 minutes each as MVV Maastricht drew 1-1 with Waalwijk and Wycombe Wanderers beat Barnet 2-0.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide played 69 minutes as Angers won again, this time 3-0 against Caen. The French side are still undefeated in matches the youngster has started for them.

Marc Bola came on late in Bristol Rovers’ 3-2 defeat to Plymouth Argyle. At this point he’ll just be happy to get a chance, after missing out entirely for the last three league games.

Joel Campbell and Takuma Asano made the bench for Real Betis and Stuttgart respectively, but didn’t come on.

Emiliano Martinez (Getafe), Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall (Birmingham City) didn’t make their team’s squads. Stephy Mavididi is still recovering from injury, and will hopefully return this week.

Chuba Akpom and Krystian Bielik’s sides, Sint-Truidense and Walsall, didn’t have matches this weekend.
