Luka Modric has reportedly informed his ‘close circle’ that he’s leaving Real Madrid and the 32-year-old would supposedly prefer a return to Tottenham or move to Arsenal over Liverpool.

According to Diario Gol, who aren’t the most reliable source, Modric has informed his ‘close circle’ that he’s leaving Real Madrid in the summer, along with Gareth Bale.

The former Spurs midfielder is said to be dead-set on leaving the Spanish capital and is allegedly eyeing a return to north London.

Although Liverpool have been linked, the report claims that Modric isn’t keep on a move to Merseyside as he prefers London.

While the Croatian is apparently most likely to return to Spurs, where he previously played between 2008-2012, Arsenal is reportedly another option.

Why Arsenal would sign another attacking midfielder when they already have Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, I don’t know. What’s more, would Modric really not mind signing for his former rivals?

The player is currently facing perjury charges after he gave a false statement about his 2008 transfer from Dinamo to Tottenham.

The 32-year-old has been part of the former Dinamo director’s embezzlement and tax fraud case.

He could get up to five years in prison, which would somewhat hamper his ability to play for any football club at all…

Modric has been at Madrid since 2012, made 245 appearances, scored 13 goals and provided 36 assists.
