Anthony Martial’s agent ‘cannot say’ whether his client will stay at Manchester United this summer, after Alexis Sanchez’s arrival limited his game time even further.

Martial’s current deal in Manchester expires in 2019, and talks between the player and his club are reportedly going nowhere. His agent, Philippe Lamboley, wouldn’t dispel the rumours of a possible move in the upcoming window.

“Will he stay in Manchester this summer? I’m sorry, but at the moment I cannot say anything else about it,” he told Il BiancoNero.

The Evening Standard write that Arsene Wenger is a long-time admirer of Martial, and tried to sign him in January. Wenger could be tempted to make another move in the summer if the situation stays the same.

30 games into the season, Martial is still only on 16 league starts. The signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal is only making matter worse.

The 22-year-old has only started two games since the start of February, and Sanchez took his place in the starting eleven for both legs of Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla.

Both are clearly at their best at the left, so right now they can’t fit in the same team.

Nonetheless, the French forward has done well when called upon. He has nine goals and five assists in the Premier League, one goal contribution every 96 minutes. In the Champions League he did even better, with one every 86 minutes.

If Martial really is considering moving on, Arsenal would be wise to make an offer.
