Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Hector Bellerin’s situation at Arsenal.

According to Manchester Evening News, a source close to Bellerin has contacted them to inform them that United have been in contact with the 22-year-old over a potential summer move. The Red Devils are allegedly monitoring the situation.

Despite Jose Mourinho supposedly yet to contact the right-back himself, United are said to be in regular contact with him and have been for ‘weeks’ as they look for a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia, who turns 33 in August.

Bellerin has been linked with a move away from north London this summer and Arsenal are said to be ready to cash in on the wantaway defender.

The Spaniard still has until June 2023 on his contract with Arsenal, so the club are said to be demanding £53m.

The whole situation feels odd to me. First, Bellerin clashed with Arsenal Fan TV, then there was that audio of someone who sounded a lot like Bellerin saying that he was going to fight for a move in the summer, then a report from the Guardian which claimed Bellerin wanted a ‘new challenge’ and now these links with United.

One thing’s for sure, Arsenal can’t sell another first team player to United, no matter how much they offer. After United signed Alexis Sanchez in January, it’s simply not an option.
