Laurent Koscielny says everyone involved with Arsenal needs to stick together if they want to turn things around between now and the end of the season.

Koscielny was speaking after yet another defeat, Arsenal’s fourth in a row in all competitions. He insisted that the solution to the club’s problems isn’t to divide even further.

Fans in Brighton were chanting for Arsene Wenger to leave, but the defender argues the team are still behind their manager.

“The boss is here to give his best for the club,” Koscielny said. “He’s been here for 20 years so he’s always loved this club.

“We need to stay united; it’s a bad period but we need everyone who likes this club – players, fans and staff – to be together and to fight to be as high as we can.”

The comments contrast with recent reports about the Arsenal squad. Last week, the Guardian claim players held a private meeting where they admitted they need more help from coaches. One reportedly said: “It’s not going to happen. We need to find the answers ourselves.”

The S*n then claimed Koscielny broke down in tears during the meeting. He reportedly grew emotional talking about his children asking him why Arsenal were so bad.

From what he’s saying in public though, it seems like Koscielny is keen for everyone to band together and fight. Of course, it’s hard to know whether that’s just because he knows the world is listening.

Either way, we need to see a change on the pitch now. The players have all got very good at owning up to their mistakes, and calling for a response from their teammates.

Now they need to stop making those mistakes, and show that response against Milan. The Europa League tie is their final chance to make something of the season.
