Arsenal travel to Brighton this weekend after a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City but will Arsene Wenger tweak his starting XI?

Not only are Arsenal on the road on Sunday, they’re also looking so poor that it doesn’t feel as if they’ll win another match this season.

Jack Wilshere should be available for the clash against the Seagulls after the 26-year-old missed out on Arsenal’s second defeat to City in five days.

Arsene Wenger said the midfielder felt some pain in his ankle so was left out of the City game after playing two matches in a row. But the boss seems sure that he will be back in the mix against Brighton.

Considering he was replaced by Danny Welbeck, I’m sure Arsenal fans will have their fingers crossed that Wilshere is back in the side. Even though the England international has been far from his best recently.

Arsenal have won just three times away from home this season. Therefore, Wenger needs to start his strongest XI. The problem is, I don’t think anyone’s quite sure what that is these days, since no one appears to want to turn up.

1. Defence

Nacho Monreal is still out with an inflamed back so won’t be available for the trip to Brighton.

Sead Kolasinac will probably once again stand in in his place and Arsenal’s only other available defenders – Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Hector Bellerin – will reluctantly have to try and play football again.

2. Midfield

Granit Xhaka had decent stats on Thursday. He had two shots, completed 85% of his passes and won six tackles. However, as usual, stats don’t tell the whole story and the midfielder was still pretty poor – as he has been for most of the season.

Still, I don’t see Wenger dropping him.

With Wilshere fit, he will most likely get the nod as well.

3. Forwards

Despite missing a penalty on Thursday night, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only real option Wenger has up front with Alexandre Lacazette out after knee surgery.

Again, despite uninspiring respective performances themselves, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey will probably start behind.

4. Line-up

4-2-3-1: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Kos, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Miki, Aubameyang.
