Former Arsenal youngster, Sanchez Watt, was shown a red card by the referee after the official thought he was arguing when Watt was simply trying to tell him his name.

While playing for Hemel Hempstead against East Thurrock on Tuesday night in the National League South, Watt was summoned by the ref to be cautioned.

Trying to tell the ref his name, the official mistook it for dissent and showed the player a red card.

Thanks to Hemel captain, Jordan Parkes, it seems that the mistake was rectified immediately and the referee, to his credit, overturned his own decision. Watt was cautioned, as had been the original intention, and the game continued with both sides at full strength.

Watt had got himself on the scoresheet earlier in the game that Hemel ended up winning 2-0.

Watt is now 27 and has failed to settle at any club for more than a couple of seasons since leaving Arsenal in 2013.
