Arsene Wenger may be entering his last summer transfer window as Arsenal manager but that doesn’t mean he can’t buy an unknown French youngster before he leaves.

The boss is said to be interested in a deal for Amiens France under-21 ‘prospect’, Tanguy Ndombele.

21-year-old Ndombele has created four assists in his 27 Ligue 1 games on loan with Lyon and the central midfielder is rated at around £14m.

According to reports, Ndombele has been highlighted as one of the most promising talents in the division with a senior France call said to be just around the corner.

Lyon, however, have a buy option in their loan deal with Amiens who signed Ndombele in 2014 from Laurent Koscielney’s former side, Guingamp, on a free transfer.

Strong on the ball with an eye for a killer pass, Ndombele has a strength and maturity in excess of his young age.

His quick feet align with an even quicker brain to produce a player who is as exciting for his current ability as he is for his potential.
