Arsenal are trying to sign Napoli trio Kalidou Koulibaly, Faouzi Ghoulam and Jorginho this summer, but the Italian club won’t part with their players easily.

According to the Mirror (via Il Mattino), Arsenal are chasing all three players over a possible summer move. Napoli are reportedly reluctant to let any of them go though.

You can certainly see the reasoning behind the club’s pursuit of any of the trio individually.

Koulibaly is one of the top centre-backs in Europe, and made our list of defenders Sven Mislintat should consider looking at this summer, which you can check out here. The 26-year-old has a massive physical presence and an eye for a pass.

Ghoulam plays at left-back, another position on Mislintat’s list of areas to strengthen. On his day he’s one of the top full-backs around, although he’s recovering from an injury currently.

Jorginho also plays in a key area of interest for Arsenal, defensive midfield. His contributions on and off the ball are sure to catch the eyes of the club’s scouts. Then again, the media have linked a number of teams to the midfielder, so there would be competition.

Plus, his agent told the media this week that he expects his client to stay at Napoli.

In reality, I can’t see Arsenal landing more than one of the Italian side’s star trio. It just wouldn’t make sense for the team to let go of all three while they’re on such a good run.

Hopefully Arsenal can convince at least one of them to join, but we’ll see in the summer.
