Arsenal are ready to send Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson out on loan, according to reports, but they’ll have to wait until next season.

The S*n claims Arsenal are planning to send the pair out on loan, in the hope that regular first-team football helps them both in their development.

Nelson seemed particularly unhappy when he didn’t come on against Watford, throwing his bib to the ground in anger. Clearly he thinks he needs regular chances too.

Although The S*n don’t mention this in their report, Arsenal would need to wait until the summer to loan either player. Thanks to rule changes in 2016, clubs can now only complete loan transfers in the usual windows, including to lower league clubs.

Both players have performed impressively for the youth teams this season, but haven’t had many chances to do the same in the senior sides.

Nelson has seven goals and two assists in nine appearances with the u23s, playing 810 minutes. He still hasn’t matched that game time with the first team yet, despite being in the squad on twice as many occasions.

Meanwhile Nketiah has nine goals and two assists in 11 academy appearances, but just 117 senior minutes. He’s still waiting for his first start, although he did make his Premier League debut this month.

Hopefully they get a few more chances before the end of the season.

After that, it probably is a good idea to send them on loan for the next campaign.
