Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, despite having spent over £100m on two leading strikers in the last two windows.

Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid (promoting further rumours that Arsenal are back in for Karim Benzema yawn) but Mundo Deportivo claimed this weekend that Arsenal were one of a few other clubs talking with Lewa’s agent.

The rumours have been triggered by the player swapping agents recently, causing many to speculate that he has done so ahead of a big summer move away from Bayern Munich.

While most clubs in the world would want a player of Lewandowski’s calibre, it’s hard to comprehend how Arsenal would consider a move for him unless they were getting ready to sell one of their recent additions, namely, Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal are in desperate need of new players but the forward position is the last one on their priority list.

With funds far from unlimited at the club, Arsenal are expected to look for a goalkeeper, central defender, midfielder and, if there’s any cash left over, another left back.

A striker is not on the list.
