Arsenal have drawn CSKA Moscow in the Europa League quarter-finals and fans are relieved… to say the least.
Out of Atletico Madrid, Marseille, Lazio, Sporting, Salzburg and Moscow, Arsenal fans definitely feel that their team has been drawn against one of the easier sides to beat. Saying that, most fans would have taken any team except Atletico.

Obviously, there’s still more than enough room for Arsenal to pull an Arsenal but hopefully their European displays this term are an indicator that we could actually go all the way in this competition.
Arsenal put in solid performance both home and away against Milan in the last round, which ended with Arsene Wenger’s men winning 3-1 on Thursday night. 5-1 on aggregate against a Serie A team that’s barely conceding at the moment is pretty good going. Hopefully we bring that confidence with us into the next round.
CSKA Moscow beat Lyon 3-2 away from home on Thursday evening, which meant that, despite the scoreline being 3-3 on aggregate, the Russian side led on away goals.
While Lyon aren’t exactly world-beaters, they’re used to playing in the Champions League and, on their day, can be a strong side. Therefore, it’s vital that Arsenal don’t underestimate Moscow.
The two Europa League clashes take place on 5 and 12 April.
