Martin Keown has set the bar high for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after likening him to Ian Wright and Thierry Henry.

Any new Arsenal striker will find themselves compared to Wright and Henry.

It’s the standard we all want a striker to meet, even though doing so would make them a club legend.

Aubameyang is a prolific poacher, so comparisons to Wright were inevitable.

He’s also tall and very quick, hence the Henry comparisons.

Martin Keown has now gone a step further, and thinks he’s a combination of both.

“He reminds me of an Ian Wright finisher, with the pace of Thierry Henry,” said Keown on BT Sport (via the Daily Star).

It’d be simpler to say that Aubameyang is just very quick and happens to be a good finisher.

Both of those are very useful assets to the team, and should help him achieve success while he’s at the club.

He certainly got off to a good start against Everton by scoring his first goal for the club.

Arsenal will need him to settle quickly and score the goals that have been lacking from the side throughout winter.

If he can do that, we might have a chance of sneaking into the top four.
